portrait gallery
I have never been to the National Portrait Gallery before, so I spent today’s rainy afternoon getting art overload. Fascinating exhibit of Lincoln, including two freakazoid life masks, some exceptionally bad art photography — I’m in the wrong genre of my business — and lots of other good stuff.
There was a display of famous women, some by famous photograhpers, some not.
The gallery is the old Patents Office building, vastly remodeled in the 1990’s. The old, central courtyard is covered and they have functions there. Saw this out a window.

They also had a folk art exhibition. “Man dancing with drums” (left) and a jug of Elvis, of course.
